Morocco displayed an aggressive and fast-paced style of play, putting significant pressure on Group H leaders, Colombia. To keep their tournament hopes alive, they had to achieve a better result than Germany, who faced South Korea in their final game.

During the first half, Morocco launched numerous attacking moves but struggled to convert their chances, leading to moments of frustration, especially for Fatima Tagnaout, a strong presence on the left wing.

Colombia also had their opportunities, with Linda Caicedo posing a threat on the right wing, but Khadija Er-Rmichi, well-supported by Nouhaila Benzima, stood firm in goal.

The decisive moment came in stoppage time when Ghizlane Chebbak’s penalty was saved, but Anissa Lahmari quickly capitalised on the rebound and score, giving Morocco the edge.

The second half witnessed rising tensions, and the Colombian side resorted to several fouls in their frustration. Caicedo and Mayra Ramirez led the attack, but Er-Rmichi’s outstanding performance denied them any goals.
