LaLiga club Cadiz recently honoured the late Nigerian rapper and singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, during their home game against Rayo Vallecano.
This tribute came two weeks after Mohbad’s passing, with numerous celebrities expressing their condolences.
Cadiz announced the tribute on their social media accounts before the match. They later confirmed that the tribute occurred during the 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Cadiz tribute to Mohbad
The Spanish team shared their heartfelt tribute on their official Twitter account, emphasizing Mohbad’s contributions to the music industry.
Their tweet read: “💛 In the heart of our stadium, we paid tribute to Mohbad in yesterday’s match. 🙏 His jersey accompanied us in our players’ locker room for yesterday’s tough match. 💫 Always in our hearts, @iammohbad_”
Additionally, Cadiz displayed a customized jersey with Mohbad’s name in the players’ locker room as a mark of respect.
Mohbad’s fans, as well as Nigerians, continue to mourn the loss of the talented musician.

Mohbad was light”- Family confirms death
In another news, The family of popular Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, has confirmed his death.
It was confirmed that the 27 year old died on Tuesday, although the cause wasn’t stated.
The post on MohBad’s Instagram page read, “It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023.
