Lionel Messi has become the most decorated player in football history after he won his first trophy with Inter Miami in the MLS.
Inter Miami was at the bottom of the league before Messi arrived, but he helped them win the League Cup.
Inter Miami won on penalty kicks in an exciting final game against Nashville SC to grab their first-ever trophy. Messi’s victory in this game made him the most successful football player ever, with a total of 44 career trophies.

During the match, Nashville was putting pressure on Inter Miami, but in the 23rd minute, Messi scored an amazing goal. He took control of the ball, avoided a defender, and shot it into the top corner of the net.
Inter Miami goes to penalty
Nashville also scored a goal, and the game went to a penalty shootout. All players from both teams took penalty kicks, and the goalkeepers took the last shots. Inter Miami’s goalkeeper, Drake Callender, made a great save, securing the victory for his team.
This win was Inter Miami’s first championship, and they have a chance to win more trophies soon. They’re also in the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup.
