Major David Dantong, a Plateau State born who was kidnapped by bandits during a sudden attack on Nigerian Defense Academy ( NDA), on Tuesday.
The remains of the deceased was returned to NDA Wednesday morning.
The abductors who killed two officers at the invasion yesterday had demanded N200 million ransom to regain his freedom.
According to reports, the deceased officer has a pregnant wife.
There are speculations that the attack was carried out by dismissed NDA officers.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State Government, being the host State of NDA, in a statement by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, has urged members of the community to give useful information about the attackers while the State Governor, Nasir El Rufai, extends his unreserved solidarity to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and all security agencies who are making immense sacrifices on different fronts.
He said: “The Government hereby appeals to the good citizens of the state to volunteer useful information to the military and security agencies in the campaign against banditry and kidnapping, in the state and beyond.”
