Liverpool fan accuse city supporters of nearly blinding child

A Liverpool fan has claimed that during Sunday’s match between the top Premier League rivals, a Manchester City supporter threw a metal nail into the away fan section at Etihad Stadium.

In a social media post, the Liverpool fan shared a photo of the nail on the ground and said it caused no harm. But they questioned what could have happened if it hit “a young girl’s eye” instead.

Last season, a 15-year-old City fan suffered a head injury after being struck by a weighted coin tossed by a Liverpool supporter. The rivalry between fans is turning aggressive.

The Liverpool fan speculated whether other nails were thrown by City supporters based on this one incident. They made clear no fight was intended by showing the nail, just facts.

Past matches saw disabled Liverpool fans racially abused by City supporters, and violence left a 53-year-old City fan hospitalized. Police have been forced to investigate fan behavior.

Rival fan groups throwing foreign objects heightened risks during heated matches between the English powerhouses vying for titles. Liverpool’s CEO issued past apologies for fan conduct causing injuries.

While  nail-throwing caused no reported damage, it underscores the growing animosity between opposing supporters. Police and clubs aim to curb violence, but extreme fan actions now overshadow thrilling competition on the field.
