The year 2022 has been a roller coaster of events for Nigerian celebrities. Auto crash is one of the major unfavourable situations these celebrities have dealt with in 2022.
We have compiled a list of celebrities who have been involved in car accidents since this year began.
Ex-BBNaija Housemate Emmanuel Umoh
Emmanuel Umoh, who participated in the 2021 BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition, survived a car accident on Monday, October 17th. He shared the news and the pictures of the damaged vehicle via his Instagram page.
“Thank God for life. Been a while since I cried. I think life got me hardened,” he expressed.
The reality show star said the car crash made him emotional as he could not contain his tears and appreciation for God.
Rico Swavey
The entertainment industry has been in shock over the death of Rico Swavey, an exBBNaija show housemate who was also in an auto crash on Tuesday, October 11th.
The 2018 BB-Naija housemate was said to have run into a median strip and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support but gave up the ghost on Thursday, October 13th.
Dunsin Oyekan
Gospel singer Dunsin Oyekan got involved in a serious car accident on October 1st along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Oyekan said he took a nap and discovered that the car that conveyed him and his people was under a trailer.
“The devil tried everything not to make me come here today. If you saw the accident scene that I came out of you can never believe that I walked out alive.”
“To think we were coming here, and I said let me sleep a bit so that I can be refreshed for the meeting. Next thing, I just knew we were somewhere, and the jeep had gone under the trailer.”
Burna Boy
Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, survived an auto crash on February 27th.
The Odogwu of Africa notified fellow Nigerians of the accident on his Instagram story. He said witnesses at the accident scene were taking pictures of him after crashing his Ferrari instead of helping him.
“Yes it’s true. I had a bad accident in my Ferrari today. My leg just hurts a little but I’m fine. It’s funny how everyone came out with their phones recording me instead of helping out (I guess they were too excited to see me regardless of the situation lol) but I love you all. Gambo got me.”
Tuoyo Ideh
The Pepper Dem BBNaija edition Housemate also had a car crash on January 17th. The reality TV show star shared a picture of the damaged car in a clip. His tyres were condemned, and his airbag deployed.
Tuoyo, while expressing his gratitude, wrote, “Thank God for life, and everyone that was with me. Nothing shall take our life this year in Jesus name Amen.
Duncan Mighty
The new year wasn’t so rosy for Nigerian musician and producer Duncan Mighty, as he was involved in an accident on January 2nd.
Ducan announced the accident on his Instagram page. He wrote, “GOD bless you all for your prayers, January 2nd on our way to Uyo our vehicle drove straight into the river after a trailer on a high speed failed break was the last thing I can remember. Next is seeing myself in a hospital.”
“GOD MADE NO BE MAN MADE. To our rescuers Akwa Ibom / Ogoni youths GOD BLESS YOU MORE AND MORE I’ve been discharged and sound. Na today I get another second-hand phone. I say make I cassette the good news.”
