The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two male suspects for kidnapping an eight-year-old boy, Daniel Chukwudi in Ipaja area, Lagos State.
The suspects, Desmond Ikechukwu Okafor, 21 was said to have conspired with Egwuonwu Gift Iyke, 34 to abduct Daniel on July 11 from his residence and demanded for N2.5m ransom after 24hours of abduction.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement on Saturday said Desmond Okechukwu Okorafor used his closeness to the family to lured the victim from his parents’ home at Aboru, Ipaja, and abducted to Ajangbadi area of Lagos where he was kept in custody for six days before he was rescued.
He also stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspects should be charged to court.
