Lagos govt destroys illegal buildings on Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway

On Sunday, the Monitoring, Enforcement, and Compliance Department of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources initiated the removal of unauthorized structures along the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway.

 This action follows the directive of the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab. 

Mr. Adekunle Adeshina, the Director of Public Affairs for the ministry, confirmed this in an official statement.

These illegal structures had been repurposed as residential dwellings and storage facilities for street vendors.

 Adeshina further explained that these structures had encroached upon the highway setback area along the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, near the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
