A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ court in Lagos on Tuesday granted bail to five students of Dowen College charged with the alleged murder of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, 12-year-old pupil of Dowen College after a conspiracy and homicide charge was made against them by the police.
Chief magistrate Olatunbosun Adeola, after hearing the bail application filed by the counsel for the defendants, ordered the defendants to produce two sureties each in like sum.
Adeola said that one of the sureties provided by each of the defendants must be their parent, and must swear an affidavit of compliance.
She further held that the passports of all the defendants must be submitted to the court.
The judge also held that their residence must be verified by the prosecutor and they must stay within 2km of their residence at all times.
Miss Ifeoma Eson, Mr A.E. Amah, Mr Godwin Omoaka (SAN), Mr Eze Ajibo were among the defence counsel, NAN reports.
The defendants were on December 9, remanded in a juvenile home over the death of Sylvester Oromoni. He was allegedly attacked in a case of bullying while in school.
