National Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) workers has embarked on strike over salary increments on Monday.
International travelers were stranded at the airport due to lack of Airport workers, all services were inaccessible.
IkejaBird gathered that the NAHCO union of workers gave a five day strike notice last week.
It said it would be embarking on strike as a result of slowness in salary review to make their grievances clear.
NAHCO Aviance earlier issued a public statement on Twitter apologizing for the inconvenience and assuring its customers that it will be resolved soon.
Olusola Obabori, the group executive director said, “we regret all the inconvenience. We are engaging the unions and all other stakeholders and we are certain the situation will be resolved in hours.”
Nnolim Nnaji, the Chairman of the House Representatives Committee on Aviation expressed his disappointment over the strike and called for immediate restraint.
He assured the workers that the government will wade into the matter to see how the workers and company can reach an amicable solution.
