Murja Ibrahim Kunya who was earlier reported to be arrested at Tahir Hotel a few days ago has been remanded by Kano State Sharia court on Thursday.
Kunya was remanded for allegedly committing offenses contrary to Islamic teachings. She was also accused of threatening people on Tiktok.
Presided by Khadi Abdullahi Halliru, Kunya stood before the judge on two counts bordering on inciting videos and threats.
The videos were considered inciting because it goes contrary to the Islamic teachings.
The Tiktoker was arrested on recommendation by the council of Ulama on January 27.
She had pleaded not guilty to the charges when she was arraigned on January 28.
However, the judge adjourned the matter until 16 February 2023 to continue the hearing and ordered that Kunya be remanded pending till the next sitting.
