JUST IN: FIFA Men’s Player Nominees – Messi, Benzema, Mbappe in, Ronaldo Out

FIFA has finally released its nominees for the 2022 best men’s player of the year on Thursday and it features some of the regular names that had stood out within the year in review.

The FIFA World Cup that was recently completed in Qatar was won by Argentina captain Lionel Messi who is favorite to clinch this category.

Kylian Mbappe was also instrumental in guiding his country to the final where he score a hatrick and eventually became the highest goal scorer of the tournament.

The French striker Mbappe also made the list alongside his national counterpart Karim Benzema, who won his first Ballon D’or in 2022.

Also on the list is Achraf Hakimi from Morocco, a national side that dazzled everyone with their performance at Qatar during the World cup.

A surprise absence on the list is Cristiano Ronaldo whose incredible performance in the world cup helped his team reach the quarter final. Neymar, who crashed out of the quarter final also made the list.
