Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, retired General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, was full of joy after being flown by his son who is a pilot in an Abuja-bound Sokoto flight.
A happy father Buratai who is a Nigeria’s ambassador to Republic of Benin, made this known in a post on his verified Facebook post on Friday, December 9.
The 62-year-old former army boss described the beautiful moment as “proud”, adding that he was accorded a warm reception by the cabin crew of the flight.
He said:
“A great day 8 December 2022 flown by my son Tukur Buratai Jnr on Arik Air from Sokoto to Abuja. Felt very proud. A perfect combination with his Captain Ahmed Musa. Very courteous Cabin Crew. God bless you all.”
Nigerians have since been celebrating the former military officer, with a number of Facebook users describing the father-son moment as “heartwarming.”
Buratai, born in November 1960 in Buratai town, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, was appointed as the Chief of the Nigerian Army Staff in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Upon his his retirement in January 2021, he was appointed Nigeria’s ambassador to Benin by the president in appreciation of his service to the army and Nigeria.
