President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed the former chief executive of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Jim Obazee, as a special investigator to probe the CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) and other entity involved.
The man is set to thoroughly investigate the apex bank and every other entity involved as instructed by the president.

Here are 10 things to know about Jim Obazee;
1. Jim Osayande Obazee is a native of Edo State, Nigerian, and was born on March 28, 1965
2. The 58-year-old has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Benin and has acquired a Masters degree from the University of Lagos on the same course.

3. The ex-chief executive of the Financial Reporting Council worked in this office for over 6 years, from 2010 to 2017, however, he was fired by the former president of Nigeria, Buhari over over the enforcement of the code of corporate governance law.
4. In February 2013, under the leadership of Obazee, the FRC recommended the dismissal of ex-CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido.
Sanusi had prompted the suggestion when he alleged that billions of naira to benefit Nigeria can’t be accounted for.
His statement prompted the suggestion from the FRC and he was eventually sacked by the then preside, Goodluck Jonathan.
5. Obazee is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and also a member of the American Accounting Association, Punch reports.
6. Under the leadership of the CBN investigator, Peterside Atedo, the then chairman of IBTC was suspended by the FRC in 2015, with the claims of an infringement in the banks’ 2013, and 2014 financial statements.
7. Obazee has a certificate in Strategic Financial Analysis for Business Evaluation from the Us at Harvard University.

8. He was a temporary worker at the Financial Accounting Standard Board, USA, and the Atlantic Schools of Business, Canada.
9. Obazee also served as the Chairman of the 29th Session of the International Standards of Accounting and Reporting.
10. He also was the Chairman who directed the adoption of the International Finacial Reporting Standards ( a set of accounting rules for the financial statements of public companies that are intended to make them consistent, transparent, and easily comparable around the world) in Nigeria.
