The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock examination will now be held on April 9, and no longer on April 16, as earlier scheduled.
The board made this known in its weekly bulletin of the Office of the Registrar on Monday in Abuja.
According to JAMB’s bulletin, the change was made due to the realisation that April 16, as previously scheduled, was an Easter Saturday, a holy Saturday observed by Christians to mark the end of Lent before Easter Sunday.
The board recalled that the registration for the 2022.2023 UTME/DE was supposed to begin on Saturday, February 12, but had to be postponed to February 19.
It noted that the one-week extension had a similar effect on the date of the Mock UTME, which also had to be rescheduled.JAMB, which has stated that it will continue to act in the best interests of Nigerians, has urged all candidates who have registered and intend to sit for the mock examination to take note of the change in date and be prepared.
The registration period for 2022 began on Saturday, February 19, and is expected to end on March 26.
The UTME, on the other hand, has been scheduled by JAMB to take place from May 6 to May 16.
