A video has emerged on social media featuring Ali Bongo, the ousted President of Gabon, urgently appealing to his international allies for assistance following a recent coup.
In the 51-second clip, Bongo verified his arrest and separation from his family, revealing that they were being held at a different location.
Dressed in an ornate blue kaftan, Bongo identified himself as the President of Gabon and implored friends worldwide to raise awareness by making noise.

Ali Bongo cries out for help
Born Alain Bernard Bongo on February 9, 1959, in Congo-Brazzaville, he took office in 2009 after the passing of his father, Omar Bongo, who had governed Gabon for nearly 42 years.
The video shows him at his residence, aligning with the coup announcement made by Lt. Col. Ulrich Madoumbi. Bongo expressed his confusion and called for attention, saying, “Nothing is happening, I don’t know what’s going on. I am calling you to make noise.”
