A daughter of a Nigerian politician has sparked controversy after revealing why she doesn’t need to work for money.
The 23 years old lady, who remained anonymous, disclosed this in a recent interview on Zikoko.
She shared, “My father is a politician. He and some of his siblings have been in politics for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been surrounded by money.”

She shared one of her earliest memories, which was when her father was a member of the House of Representatives.
“When I was around eight or nine years old, I’d followed my dad to his office that day, and when I went to use the toilet, I noticed several ghana-must-go bags there. I was a curious child, so I peeked inside. You can guess what I found.”
With investments in her name that remit monthly payments, as well as a trust fund worth roughly N192,705,000 that will mature when she is 25 years old, she’s of the opinion that she doesn’t need to work.
“I don’t think I’ll ever come to a point where I absolutely need to work for money,” she said.
Reactions: This story just makes me sad!
@Blackmigrantgrl: Reading this story just makes me sad. A politician’s child with so much access to money they are so undisciplined about it and in that same country people die for as low as 60k naira to pay hospital bills. Heartbreaking stuff
@xdotng: You’re glorifying I’ll gotten wealth. What makes you different from those who we condemn, those who give a voice to thief’s and their children. The girl has no known legitimate source of income and you guys breathe life into that story. What is the moral of her story? Do better!
@breakyonevk: See, from this excerpt alone, my theory of Nigerian politicians’ kids remains: they know what their parents are doing and they are full participants.
@ene_monah: The girl and her father looting and stealing are actually the ones disrespecting hardworking Nigerians.
@ozzyetomi: Dont actually think theres anything wrong with Zikoko profiling a politician’s child. The point of Naira life is to explore Nigerians and their relationship with money, how they get it, what they spend on etc, and this is the reality of many. Lol, go on tiktok if you want to cry.
