Barely days after Israel Adesanya lost his middleweight title at UFC 281, the Last Style Bender has been arrested at the J.F. Kennedy airport in the United States for possessing metal knuckles.
The Last Style Bender who is still sulking from his loss to Alex Pereira was reportedly nabbed at the airport as it has been deemed as illegal to have in possession a brass knuckle.
British news media outlet Daily Mail, stated that brass knuckles are illegal in New York and it is also unlawful to bring the dangerous metal into the US.
The Nigerian-born MMA superstar who dropped in the pound for pound rankings from second spot to number eight is yet to comment on the incident.
Izzy was stopped in the fifth round of his middleweight title fight by Pereira at the Madison Square Garden.
The New Zealand fighter was leading on the judges scorecard by 3-1 until Poatan struck with a flurry of punches which referee Mark Goddard had to intervene.
Adesanya in a post-fight interview claimed he injured his peroneal nerve in the fifth round which affected his footwork before he was knocked out.
Izzy has been given a medical break by the UFC to attend to his health issues after the grueling fight with his long term rival Pereira.
