Messi’s unusual Substitution

Messi’s substitution in the 89th minute raised concerns about a potential injury. Argentina’s coach, Lionel Scaloni, admitted that he decided to replace Messi because their star captain was “feeling something,” emphasizing that he wouldn’t normally take him off the field.

When questioned further about Messi’s condition, Scaloni mentioned that medical tests would be conducted on Friday. He stated, “If he’s okay, he will play against Bolivia; if he’s not well, we’ll assess the situation.”

Messi himself didn’t indicate any significant injury concerns when speaking to Telemundo. The 36-year-old acknowledged that he was a bit tired and suggested that he needs to become accustomed to occasional rests, saying,

I was a little tired, so it happened that I went out, and surely it won’t be the last time I’m substituted during matches.”
