Four prominent candidates have emerged in this major moment, each positing a distinct vision to tackle pressing issues and chart the course for Imo’s future.

Hope Uzodinma (APC)
Governor Hope Uzodinma is the current governor of Imo State. As the incumbent from the APC, he brings experience and stability to the table, navigating the state’s challenges.

- The current chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum.

Athan Achonu (LP)
Athan Achonu, a resilient former senator, aims to make history as the first amputee governor. His unique perspective and commitment to the LP’s success in the South East bring a fresh and determined approach.

- Former senator with a brief stint in the National Assembly.
- He was known for embracing his disability, potentially becoming the nation’s first amputee governor.

Samuel Anyanwu (PDP)
