Former Minister of State for Labour and Employment and ministerial nominee Festus Keyamo, SAN, apologized to the Senate on Monday for what was perceived as a lack of respect towards the ninth Assembly.
He clarified that he had previously apologized to Senator Godiya Akwashiki, the Senate committee chairman on Labour, employment, and Productivity, and his counterpart in the House of Representatives during the ninth Senate.
The proceedings went on after he apologized to the Senate.

Keyamo’s apology to the senate
Keyamo stated, “I apologise to the Senate. I am sorry, I am sorry, and I am sorry.
” Regarding that program, the World Bank managed the account. As agency heads, we didn’t handle any money. We compiled the list, and funds were directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts. “
“Every detail was documented and stored. All beneficiary records and data are with the ministry.”
Keyamo, nominated by President Bola Tinubu at the eleventh hour, appeared before the Senate on Monday for his ministerial nomination.
Prior to this, Darlington Nwokocha (LP, Abia Central) moved a motion to suspend the nominee’s screening.

Chaos erupts in Senate as motion to halt Keyamo’s Screening
In another news, The Senate was charged with unusual energy as Senator Darlington Nwokocha, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, boldly presented a motion.
This motion aimed to halt the ministerial screening of the esteemed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Festus Keyamo.
Interestingly, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe from Abia-South Senatorial District promptly supported Nwokocha’s motion, adding an unexpected layer of intrigue to the proceedings.
