IkejaBird Media hosted a community-focused event in the Oregun area of Ikeja to commemorate International Men’s Day, bringing together men for an open conversation on mental health, wellness, and positive masculinity. The gathering held in front of the Oregun King’s Palace provided a culturally rooted and supportive environment for participants to learn, share, and connect.

The session featured respected broadcaster Bababunmi Agbebi as one of the lead speakers. Drawing from his extensive experience in media and public engagement, Agbebi addressed the often-overlooked emotional pressures faced by men, emphasizing the importance of vulnerability, communication, and seeking support when needed.

IkejaBird Media’s Managing Editor, Uche Ezennia, also engaged the audience with practical insights on recognizing stress, managing daily pressures, and building healthy support systems. Her address encouraged men to take deliberate steps toward safeguarding their mental well-being, highlighting that strength is not the absence of struggle but the courage to seek help.
Attendees expressed enthusiasm throughout the event, participating actively in discussions and sharing personal experiences. Beyond the conversations, the outreach also included socially engaging activities. Men enjoyed bonding over games such as table tennis and other recreational challenges designed to foster camaraderie, relaxation, and a sense of community.

The initiative reflects IkejaBird Media’s commitment to public enlightenment and community wellness. By creating a safe space for men to discuss mental health openly, the organization reinforced the global message of International Men’s Day: celebrating men’s contributions to society while championing their health, resilience, and emotional well-being.
