A debate about how Asake, a popular Nigerian afrobeat singer can ‘make it more in life’ as a musician has ensued on the microblogging platform.

A man with the username @provii8 took to Twitter to state that Asake can be more than what he is now if he stops singing in Yoruba.

“If Asake really wants to go far, he should stop singing in Yoruba, no shades,” the tweep asserted.

However, his school of thought did not sit well with some other Tweeps, a social media user argued that Nigerian singers who are well-recognized internationally also sing in their language so why should his choice and style of music matter?

Asake weeps after Olamide features in his song,old video resurfaces

Meanwhile, an emotional video showing the reaction of Nigerian Afro-fuji musician, Asake, captured a long time ago has emerged.

The young singer couldn’t hold back his tears combined with his excitement the first time he heard Olamide’s voice on his song.

In the video shared by popular Insta-blogger Tunde Ednut, Asake was seated on the passenger’s seat while his longtime friend, Yhemo Lee was driving the car as they listened to his song.
