I want Wike to be in the cabinet: Fayose speaks on Tinubu’s cabinet appointment | Ikejabird.com

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, recently shared his thoughts on President Bola Tinubu’s potential cabinet picks.

He also stated the significant role played by the G5 also known as the Integrity Group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in securing Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

As President Tinubu takes office, there are expectations for him to announce his cabinet within 60 days. Speculations have arisen regarding the potential inclusion of individuals from opposition parties, including Wike and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in key roles within the new government.

Wike has what it takes to serve Nigeria

In an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Fayose expressed his belief that former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State possesses the necessary qualifications to serve as a minister in Tinubu’s government.

He emphasized that Wike “must serve” in Tinubu’s cabinet and described him as an articulate and capable individual who can contribute to the nation’s progress.

He acknowledged the G5 – consisting of ex-PDP governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Samuel Ortom, and Nyesom Wike, along with current governor Seyi Makinde – for their role in securing Tinubu’s presidential victory and urged Tinubu to appreciate their support and consider their inclusion in his government.

He specifically said:

“I will be disappointed if Asiwaju does not equally appreciate them for what they stand to represent. Wike must serve. Wike is still a young man. I’m his senior brother, he can’t deny that. Wike is an asset to Nigeria. Wike is never timid, he confronts challenges. Asiwaju needs a man like Wike.”

Additionally, Fayose called upon the PDP leadership to streamline their operations to ensure future progress.
