In what could be described as an unfortunate ending to a cinderella love story, a Nigerian man based in Germany has cried out to social media over his marriage.
In a viral video, the man, simply identified as Ebele, said his wife is frustrating him —what he does not deserve.
“This is more than I can take. I never expected her life to be like this. But now that it has gotten to this stage, it is time for me to let the whole world know what is going on. Because if I do anything now, the government will chase me out of the house and she will be the one to inherit all what I have achieved,” he said.
I don’t know what I’ve done to this woman, I don’t deserve this. The woman that I went to Nigeria to marry with my har earned money,” he said.
Since the video went viral, many social media users have sympathised with the man, though a section of Nigerians who saw the video submitted that “he must be doing something she (the woman) doesn’t like too.”
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), intimate partner violence is among the major risks to women’s health around the world. Men, too, can be victims of domestic violence; like female victims, they tend to present initially with their injuries to a family physician or an emergency room.
