Mrs. Remi Tinubu, the First Lady, has denied recent social media rumours claiming that that she closed the Aso Rock Chapel
The allegations were made by a Twitter user @VeronicaaNaomi. However, Mrs. Tinubu, a former senator, has dismissed these reports as baseless and false
Busola Kukoyi, the special adviser on media to the First Lady in a statement on Monday said that the Aso Villa Chapel remains open and continues to hold weekly fellowships and that all rumours regarding the closure of the chapel were false.

The president is yet to appoint a chaplain: Mrs Tinubu
Mrs. Tinubu made it clear that she never issued any directive for the closure of the chapel or collected keys from anyone
Mrs. Tinubu shed light on the matter of the Aso Villa Chapel’s current lack of a new Chaplain following the departure of the previous one.
She explained that efforts are in place to find a new person to fill the position but the chapel is opened and not closed.
Her statement:
We wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and totally false representation of the true situation, as the First Lady at no time gave such directive that the Chapel be shut and the keys handed over to Her Excellency.
“Presently, there are weekly fellowships going on at the Chapel.
”However, Mr President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain, as he only reserves the right to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel,” she said.
