Former Big Brother Naija star, Whitemoney, has apologised to actress Victoria Inyama and Doyin over a video he made in which he appeared to mock women.
Whitemoney, whose real name is Hazel Oyeze Onou, said he was remorseful and never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings.
In the video, which went viral on social media, Whitemoney had claimed no woman was out of a man’s league as long as he has money. Doyin disagreed with his take and Victoria Inyama took things a step further by insulting his mother.
The former reality star would later make a disparaging comment about female reality stars, prompting criticism from some of his fans and followers.
Whitemoney’s apology comes after Inyama called him out on social media for what she described as “ignorance and arrogance”.
She said his actions were hurtful and he should take responsibility for them. Doyin also criticised Whitemoney, saying that his actions were disrespectful and that he should learn to appreciate the women.
“I will never slander women, I will never talk bad against women, I was raised by women, I love women, my team is filled with women, and I don’t have anything against women. Women have been a major part of my career and I appreciate every single woman in my life that I’ve come across and yet to come across. So I’m sorry to all the woman who feel insulted, I didn’t mean to insult anybody intentionally, I’m not above mistakes, I’m not perfect, thank you very much, let love lead,” he said.
In his apology, Whitemoney said he was not perfect and had made a mistake. He said he was willing to learn from his mistake and hoped Inyama and Doyin would forgive him.
He also called on his fans and followers to be more tolerant and respectful of others.
