Popular Nigerian musician, Portable, has released a new song in response to his recent arrest by the Nigerian police.
Portable was arrested on the evening of March 31, 2023, following the expiration of a 72-hour ultimatum given to him to honour a police invitation.
His arrest led to a video that went viral showing the singer fending off police officers who were trying to arrest him at a recreational centre he owns in Ogun State.

Portable releases new song
Portable had cursed the officers, claiming they had no justification for storming his business centre without a prior invitation.
The arrest followed a petition by his former signee, Manny Monie, who accused Portable of invading his studio, destroying his recording equipment, and assaulting him.
Portable was arraigned in court on April 3, 2023, on a six-count charge bordering on assault and theft of musical equipment. He was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
The court ruled that both sureties must have landed properties near the court, and Portable is to remain at the Ilaro Correctional Centre until he meets the bail condition. The case has been adjourned to April 26.
Federal Government Liability
Following his release, Portable took to his Instagram page on April 5, 2023, to preview a new song that highlights his encounter with the law.
In the video, he captioned ‘Federal Government Liability,’ the singer claimed he wasn’t a prisoner while also acknowledging the power of law enforcement agencies, which he claims are second only to God.
