Madame Success, a Delta-based Nigerian woman, has been arrested for reportedly luring four female students into prostitution on Friday.
The woman was remanded immediately at Anambra state police station. She was later arraigned on Friday at a Magistrate Court for Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Awka where she was eventually denied bail.
IkejaBird gathered that those four female students were from the Nnamdi Azikwe University Awka.
It was also gathered that the lady deceived them with job offers as sales girls.
The girls had narrated how they found themselves in a brothel where they were forced to sleep with multiple men daily.
Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Children’s Welfare, rescued the girls from the shackles of their oppressor.
In a press statement by the media assistant to the commissioner, she said it was an emergency call that was arrested immediately.
The students who spoke in unison narrated how they were forced to work at a brothel:
“Auntie Success told us that she has a job opportunity for us in Agbor, Delta State, where we will be selling drinks in a beer parlour, but on getting there, we discovered that it was prostitution work they brought us to do,” the students said.
“The men pay the sum of N1,000 or N2,000 directly to our madam, who only give us N400 every day for feeding. The direct payment to Madam Success made it difficult for us to have any cash at hand.
“These dresses (skimpy clothes) were bought for us from the proceeds which people pay to our madam.”
“After the punishment, we were taken to a herbalist who forced us to take an oath that we would never run away or we would die,” they narrated.
