A man identified as Gozie was kidnapped yesterday by a “social media friend” who lured him under false pretenses of a job offer.
The social media friend, claimed to be a chef, and offered Gozie a job at his shop. But things took a dark turn when they met up, as Gozie was ambushed, beaten, and taken to an unfinished building.
Mezublazz, the victim’s brother, took to Instagram to share the details. He mentioned that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of one million naira from their mother later that day.

He wrote, “they told her that they are giving her before 3 o’clock to pay up the ransom or they will send her pictures of my brothers dead body.”
The family begged the kidnappers, who eventually agreed to accept N60,000. But before releasing Gozie, they forced him to undress and recorded him admitting that he is gay.
Gozie was eventually set free later that night, but he was in a state of shock and unable to speak.
It’s important to remember that just like Gozie and Iniubong Umoren, there have been cases, where many individuals have fallen victim to abduction and even murder while being lured with false job offers.
