Mrs. Racheal Bolaji Fadele, a widow who is also childless, publicly lamented about how she was duped of her savings.
Being eighty-five years old, and without a child, she started planning ahead for her burial as she didn’t want to be buried as a pauper.
The widow explained that in October 2022, she received a call from an unfamiliar number and the caller claimed to be from a “first generation bank“.

How did the widow get duped
The caller asked her some questions about her account and she provided the detailed answers to each question.
Immediately after the call, she received a bank alert message that over 1 million naira had been withdrawn from her account.
The widow devastation led her to the police, where the case was reported.
Upon Investigation, the transaction was traced to a certain Mr Nwankpa and it was confirmed that he called her using his phone.
Mr Nwankpa was rightly arrested on account of fraudulent stealing. He pleaded not guilty and opted to settle out of court.
The case was adjourned to 16th March 2023 for hearing.
