In a recent press conference, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, addressed the accusations made by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku had accused President Tinubu of forgery and vowed to challenge his victory in the 2023 election until the Supreme Court ruled on the matter.
During an interview with BBC, Abdulaziz dismissed Atiku’s claims, stating that the presentation of any evidence against Tinubu in the Supreme Court had reached a dead end.

He is in confusion
He asserted that President Tinubu was not concerned about the case before the Supreme Court since Chicago State University had provided all the necessary documents to support them.
Abdulaziz expressed sympathy for Atiku, suggesting that his statements reflected confusion and a lack of understanding of the situation.
He emphasized that Chicago State University had not stated that any document was fake or that Tinubu had not studied there.
The courts of appeal are not the courts of trial
The spokesperson further explained that the Court of Appeal, which Atiku had approached, was not a trial court but a body that reviews decisions made by the national court.
If any mistakes were identified, they would be corrected or confirmed by the Court of Appeal.
We have no fear
Abdulaziz stated that if Atiku believed he had found any evidence, it was already too late, as everything required to address the matter had been accomplished and the concerned institution, Chicago State University, had provided the necessary information.
The spokesperson concluded by asserting that Atiku’s actions held no legal basis and were therefore ineffective.
He urged Atiku to acknowledge that the political chapter had closed and focus on the chapter of nation-building, as President Tinubu had repeatedly emphasized.

Tinubu: LP responds to Atiku’s call for justice over ‘forged’ certificate
Meanwhile, the Labour Party (LP) has responded to Atiku Abubakar’s request to join his quest for “justice” in the controversy around President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.
Recall that Atiku had requested the release of President Tinubu’s certificate from the Chicago State University.
The former Vice President sorted the credentials over the suspicion that the certificate Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may not be authentic.
