Group call for investigation as unknown gunmen invade school, kill two in Lagos

A non-profitable association, Club Seventies Epe (CSE), has called for the investigation into the death of a student and a teacher in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos.

They appealed to the Lagos State Government, Nigerian Police Force, Traditional Council of Obas’ and Chiefs and the Nigerian Union of Teachers to bring the culprit to book, urging the government to put measures for adequate security in the area.

The President, Ibrahim Sanuth in a stament while condemning the killing said Razak Bakare, a student of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Epe was shot dead on campus on Wednesday, while Ahmed Saheed, a teacher in Army Children High School Epe also in Epe area, was killed on Friday.

The President, described the act as barbaric and noted that the institution has been known for peace since its establishment until its recent incident.

“I totally condemn such an act and I know the management of the institution will take adequate measures to prevent a repeat of such an incident,” he said.

He appealed to all authorities to work closely with traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders in the fight against cultism, hooliganism, hoodlums and other social vices in the area while he urged students to remain focus and be ambassadors of peace and agents of development and not agents of killing and destruction.
