Osasuna is in trouble with La Liga for their fans’ offensive chants directed at Mason Greenwood during Sunday’s match against Getafe.
Greenwood, on loan from Manchester United, made his first appearance for Osasuna as a substitute during the second half of their 3-2 victory at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
While some home fans cheered Greenwood when he came on in the 77th minute, some away supporters chanted ‘Greenwood, die.’

Greenwood’s debut for Getafe
Greenwood was involved in the winning goal when his shot was blocked and led to a corner, from which Nemanja Maksimovic scored.
La Liga’s official match observer heard these chants, and now there will be a legal and disciplinary process.
Osasuna coach defends fans after offensive comments
Osasuna coach Jogoba Arrasate condemned the chants, also mentioning offensive taunts from home fans toward his team.
He said, ‘The chants of ‘F*** Osasuna were very bad, and the chants against Greenwood were very bad too.
He is a very good player. But if we talk about chants, we should talk about all the chants, not just some.’
This appearance marked Greenwood’s first competitive game in 19 months. Earlier this year, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service dropped a case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.
An internal investigation at Manchester United concluded in August that he would not return to the first-team squad, and he joined Getafe on loan in September.

Manchester United terminates contract with Greenwood over rape allegations
In another news, Manchester United has announced that Mason Greenwood will leave the club after an investigation into allegations of attempted rape.
Greenwood faced serious accusations like attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault.
Starting in January 2022, when he was arrested for these alleged crimes, Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United. Since then, he hasn’t played or practiced with the team.
