Governor Sanwo-Olu rewards N10m cash prize to LASU’s best-graduating student with 5.0 CGPA in law

A young 23-year-old Nigerian student has received a standing ovation from fellow Nigerians after her jaw-dropping achievement in school.

Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf graduated from Lagos State University with a perfect CGPA ( Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 5.0, becoming the best student and valedictorian in the school’s 26th convocation.

Aminah who studied Law had many people in awe of her result as the Governor of Lagos State, Babjide Sanwo Olu showed up in the convocation to gift the lady an award for her achievement.

Sanwo Olu personally gave the smart lady a whooping sum of 5 million naira and also gave an additional cash prize of the same amount from the Lagos State Government.

The young woman went home with the sum of 10 million naira for her brilliance, “As a token of her brilliance, I will be giving her a token donation of 5M, and the state government will give her an additional donation of 5m, well done, congratulation,” Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu said.

Ever since news of Aminat’s achievement made headlines many have congratulated the brilliant lady, just recently Peter Obi also took to Twitter to praise the smart young woman.

President Tinubu signs student loan bill into law

In other news, President Bola Tinubu officially approved the student loan bill. Dele Alake, an aide to the president, informed State House correspondents about this development. 

The bill allows Nigerian students to borrow money for their education without paying any interest. Dele Alake, a spokesperson for the president, shared this news after the signing ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Alake said this bill would greatly support young people’s educational aspirations nationwide. However, to be eligible for the loan, students must prove they come from a poor background.
