Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of States has addressed the public about the Nigerian election that is forthcoming on February 25.
In the 58 minutes video, Samantha Power, USAID Administrator and Linda Thomas-Greenfield who is U. S. Ambassador to the UN also participated in the address to drive home how important the most populous black nation is to the entire world.
“And during this election, you, the people of Nigeria have a chance to make your voices heard, to choose your future, your vote matters. This election matters – not only to Nigerians but the rest of the world,” Anthony Blinken said.
“We are investing in your success. Our shared democratic futures depend on it”, said Greenfield.
In their remark, they established that the US does not have a direct candidate in this election but would be following it closely with the hope that it is peaceful and drives democracy forward.
