Gary Neville has issued a warning to Erik ten Hag, suggesting that the Manchester United manager may face dismissal due to the club’s perceived lack of direction.
This concern comes after United’s recent 3-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, following another 3-0 loss to Manchester City just days prior.
Ten Hag’s tenure has seen the club’s worst start to a season since 1962-63, including five losses in their first 10 home games at Old Trafford, a record not seen since 1930-31.

Neville express his disapproval with Ten Hag
Neville expressed his disappointment with United’s recent performances, stating that the Theatre of Dreams had turned into the “Theatre of Nothing,” leaving fans disheartened.
He also highlighted the struggles on the pitch, poor player performances, and a manager seemingly unable to turn the situation around.
The former United right back drew a parallel with previous managerial changes at the club, emphasizing that a run of poor results could spell trouble for ten Hag.
Manchester United has seen several managers come and go since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, including David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and now Erik ten Hag.
Neville attributed ten Hag’s challenges to the lack of a structured football department at Old Trafford, noting that other clubs, such as their recent opponents, have invested in proper football departments to support their teams both on and off the pitch.
In contrast, he believes Manchester United lacks a sporting director and, as a result, is facing difficulties in maintaining its competitive edge.
