FULL LIST: Morocco best in Africa, Argentina move up as FIFA releases new ranking

Football international governing body, FIFA, has released its latest official ranking of the countries across the world post the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

The ranking, which was released on Thursday, December 22, saw Brazil seal the top spot, closely trailed by World Cup winners Argentina and France in the second and third places respectively.

Brazil have a total points tally of 1840.77 — two points more than Argentina’s 1838.38. By calculation, this means that Argentina will overtake Brazil after their next game if they win and Brazil fail to win.

In Africa, Morrocco sealed the number-one spot in the continental ranking and 11th in the world. The Atlas Lions were ranked 22nd in the world and 2nd in Africa in November.

This follows a stellar and dominant run in Qatar which was massively highlighted by their appearance in the semi-finals, the first African and Arab nation to reach the spot.
