Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Governor of Oyo State has been confirmed dead.
Although, the cause of his death has not been revealed but he has been described as a man who took development in the state serious.
Alao-Akala who was 71-years-old served as the Governor of the State in 2006 for 11 months following the te impeachment of the incumbent Governor, Rashidi Ladoja.
Meanwhile, Ladoja was reinstated after his impeachment was stepped down by the supreme court, Alao-Akala won the gubernatorial election in 2007 as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and became the executive governor of Oyo state until May 2011.
However, Seye Makinde,Oyo State Governor in a statement, said to honour Alao-Akala, flags have been ordered to fly at half-mast.“I join the good people of Oyo State to mourn the passing of a former governor of our dear state, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala, which sad event took place today. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss,” he said.
