Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr Saudi football club, has recently been banned by FIFA from registering new players.
This action was taken by FIFA due to Al-Nassr’s failure to fulfill their financial obligations towards Leicester City concerning the transfer of Ahmed Musa.
FIFA, the global football governing body, said that Al-Nassr did not make the required payments of up to £390,000, including additional fees and interest, owed to Leicester City for Musa’s transfer back in 2018.

What caused the FIFA ban
Al-Nassr was duly informed in 2021 about their obligation to settle the outstanding amount following the official ruling.
This ruling, issued in October 2021, included a clear warning to Al-Nassr that a ban on registering new players would be imposed if they failed to settle the outstanding amount.
FIFA’s official ruling explicitly states that Al-Nassr has neglected to fulfill their payment of €460,000 (£390,000), along with interest, related to performance-based add-ons owed to Leicester City.
As a result, the club is now faced with the challenge of paying the fee within the duration of three consecutive bans, or else they may face referral to FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee.
However, to lift the registration ban and regain the ability to recruit new players, Al-Nassr is determined to make the payment to Leicester City.
