Talented Nollywood actress turned politician, Funke Akindele has finally spoken up after losing in the just concluded gubernatorial Lagos election.
The actress, who was a running mate to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, lost the gubernatorial post to the incumbent governor of All Progressives Congress candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the 18th of March 2023.
The actress finally addressed her supporters via her Instagram page after she had deleted all posts related to politics from her official page.

No regrets
The mother of two said she never regretted running for the position and she also thanked everyone for supporting her.
She further disclosed that she would consider her next step in life and continue to prioritize the interest of her people.

Funke Akindele deletes political post from social media
In another news, Funke Akindele deleted all politics-related posts from her Instagram account.
A check by Ikeja Bird shows that all the pictures and videos of her political engagement, including those of her campaign, have been taken down from her page on the photo and video-sharing platform.
This is coming barely six hours after her party, and its flagbearer was defeated by the incumbent governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, March 20
