“E be like say dey forget”: Kunle Remi finally breaks silence on AMVCA snub

Nigerian actor, Kunle Remi has opened up about his name not being amongst the nominees in the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Recall that AMVCA recently disclosed the nominees for 33 categories with ten open for public voting for their 9th edition award in 2023.

Well, fans of the fast-rising star were not impressed because his name was missing in the nominees for all the award sections, despite being one of the main characters in movies (‘Ijakumo’ and Anikulapo) that were nominated.

Following the frustration and cries of dissatisfaction from fans, Kunle Remi has taken to Instagram to calm the wrath of his supporters.

He admitted that he got several messages, and calls from his fans and really appreciated them for their support and love. Kunle continued by congratulating his colleagues who were nominated for different award categories.

The actor jokingly mentioned that he would have won if he was nominated, he ended his little message by implying that he won’t be brought down by this and would continue to do what he loves while having fun.

“I have been seeing all the tags after the AMVCA nomination announcement. It would be nonchalant to not appreciate the love, calls and messages. Thank you kindred. First of, congratulations to all my friends/colleagues this year won’t be great without y’all’s amazing work and effort”

“God save una, cos if I Dey the categories I for win (Joke) before una say otherwise.Let the best man win. P.S- Please someone should check on deyemitheactor KR Kindred… you know how it is… we keep catching fun and doing fhingz, and many more fhingz,” he said.

Reactions: What is Anikulapo without Saro?

The post gave room once again for an explicit conversation. Many argued that it didn’t make sense that Anikulapo, a film where he was the main lead was nominated multiple times but his name was not mentioned, some also applauded him for his maturity while stating that his time is yet to come but he will definitely be awarded for his hard work someday.  Fans react to AMVCA snubbing Kunle Remi in nominees’ list

In another news, AMVCA released the nominations list for its 9th edition, and fans of fast-rising Nigerian movie talent, Kunle Remi, have expressed their dissatisfaction that the actor did not receive any nominations.

Despite making marvellous appearances in some of the movies nominated, including Ijakumo and Anikulapo, in which he starred, Kunle was not recognised for his outstanding performances.

The AMVCA 2023 nominee list was announced on Sunday by Bisola Aiyeola and Adjetey Anang, both TV stars.
