DPO, officers at Ajiweh police station transferred after death of Bolanle Raheem

Following the death of Lagos lawyer Bolanle Raheem, the divisional head and all police officers attached to the Ajiweh police station in Ajah, Lagos state have been transferred.

The Lagos state commissioner of police, Abiodun Alabi, gave the order and mandated the replacement of the officers with a crop of new police personnel.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Lagos police command, made this known on Monday, January 2, saying the effort was to sanitise the division known for brutality and unprofessional conduct.

Hundeyin also stated that the new DPO Ajah, CSP Adolf Ogwu “earlier in the week dismantled all the shanties around the police station. “

“In addition, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc has already effected the transfer out of ALL personnel of the division, with replacement from other divisions. This would fully materialize in a couple of days.

We encourage more Lagos residents to, as usual, say something whenever they see something, as this would translate to a better policing experience for all. Remember, security is everyone’s business,” he said.

Bolanle, a heavily pregnant 41-year-old mother and lawyer, was killed on Sunday, December 25, by a police officer identified as ASP Drambi Vandi.

The officer has been suspended by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba. Vandi is currently remanded in prison after being dragged to the Lagos magistrate court in Yaba.
