The police have released the corpse of Sylvester Oromoni, 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos allegedly bullied to death to his family for burial.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, disclosed this on Friday.
He said autopsy had been conducted on the deceased to ascertain what killed him and the nature of death.
“Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. Result is being awaited. Corpse released to family for burial. Investigation ongoing.”
He said the result of the autopsy was still being awaited.
Oromoni was reportedly bullied to death by some senior students of Dowen College recently. The incident had gained national and international attention.
Over 100,000 persons have also signed a petition domiciled on the Change.org platform seeking the arrest of those mentioned in the incident and their swift prosecution.
Five students of Dowen College in Lekki, Lagos, who were arrested by the Police in connection to the death of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni, have been remanded in a juvenile home.
