A happily married couple, whose union took place in 2006 have just discovered that they are related by blood as cousins
Dailymail reported that the lovely couple, Joseph and Celina courted for four months before they tied the knot and have been together for about 17 years.
She broke the news on TikTok @realestatemommas: ‘Married my husband in 2006. Not thinking anything of it we had three kids. Come to find out we were related and cousins.’
The wife, Celina Quinones, decided to take a DNA test to find out more about her heritage and that was how the shocking relationship was made.
In her words:
“This was three kids in that I found out we were related. I did my DNA test I think in 2016 and yeah it was devastating because I was like ‘babe we’re related are we even supposed to be together?”
“This is weird. I wouldn’t change it for the world… Cousband and wife for life! There is a reason why good couples look alike. I am just over here raising awareness.”

She said the news was a ‘good ice breaker’ but encouraged other couples to do a check on their heritage too.
They received heavy backlash from the public, but their opinions did not deter them.
Celina described the moment she first discovered her husband was actually also her cousin as ‘devastating’.
However, she was not willing to yield to advice that she should terminate her marriage, rather she stated that their love was stronger than ever as they had heavily invested in it for 17 years.
“Let me divorce him because we didn’t know. Let me just tell our kids their parents are not together anymore because of other people’s opinions. No thank you we will just be staying cousins, spouses and lovers forever. Now go throw up in your mouth some more.”

Meanwhile, a Twitter user who simply identifies herself as Fairy Gbemie has revealed how her cousin found out that her husband was not who he claimed to be.
The lady said her cousin found out that her husband was a cleaner as opposed to the accountant he said he was.
Gbemie also said her cousin found out the truth two months into the marriage and she is seeking honest advice on how to approach the situation.
