Countdown 2023: Buhari’s Admistration landmark projects

President Muhammadu Buhari led administration has been trailed with criticisms ranging from insecurity, unemployment, poor healthcare and epilleptic power supply.

Ikejabird takes a look at remarkable projects done under this administration amidst these criticisms.

Completion of the Second Niger bridge.

This National project was one of the celebrated landmark infrastructure under the administration.

It construction started since 2018 and was commissioned on October 2022.

This 1.6km long bridge cost the federal government 336 Billion Naira , making it one of the latest infrastructure projects done by the Buhari administration.

The bridge is situated in Asaba; which will serve as a better route for commuters and businesses in the region.

Construction of Bayelsa Refineries

The federal Government proposed the construction of new refineries around the Delta regions of the country.

These refineries was estimated to produce over 12,000 barrels and also help other petroleum products in Nigeria, the federal government has also given multiple licenses to private individuals willing to construct refineries in the states.

This will help in subsiding the pricing and availability of the products in the country.

Approval of Nigeria Aeroplane University in Abuja

Another laudable project was the official provisional approval of the Aeroplane University in Abuja. This comes at a time the country is yarning for more aerospace skills and technical investment and in the military.

The minister while explaining the decision of the  federal government, said the government is committed to making sure there are massive developments in the aviation’s sector.

The University is named African Aviation and Aerospace University, and will be situated in Abuja. It is expected to commence academic activities in 2022 with courses in Aviation Business and Meteorology.

Flag off of Commercial operation of Lagos-Ibadan railway

The official commencement of operations at the Lagos to Ibadan rail has contributed immensely to the scorecard of the administration.

This Rail system has helped the country’s west commercial hub Lagos state and  Ibadan in boosting trade and investment.

This has also reduced the fear of insecurity and robbery on the highway.

The Lagos-Ibadan Railway is a 157 kilometres long standard gauge railway between Lagos and Ibadan, with an extension of about 7 km to join the rail line to the port in Lagos.

These among many others are landmark developmental projects of the administration spanning from 2015 till date.

Even with these laudable projects, concerns are still in the minds of many citizens, as widespread insecurity and criminal activities persist in many parts of the country.
