Chicago State University (CSU) has indicated that they are willing to release the academic records of President Bola Tinubu if a United States court grants the order.

The move comes after Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), sought a court order compelling CSU to release Tinubu’s academic records.

Tinubu’s credentials indicate that he graduated from CSU in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, and management.

They are wondering why they need it

The presidential election petition tribunal had previously admitted certified copies of Tinubu’s academic and professional records as evidence.

Abubakar’s lawsuit aims to settle the controversy around Tinubu’s academic background and the US district court has ruled that it has the jurisdiction to hear the case.

CSU has responded to Abubakar’s application, expressing confusion over why Tinubu’s academic records would impact a foreign election challenge. They argue that some of the requests are inappropriate and not relevant to the case.
