Chelsea prepare rescue plans for Ronaldo amid woes at Man United

Cristiano Ronaldo could be playing for Man United’s arch rivals Chelsea in January.

Reports from the Daily Mail revealed that the clubs owner Todd Boehly has established a relationship with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes.

The 37-year-old was initially linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during the summer but it was reportedly hampered by former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

CR7’s current situation at Old Trafford suggests that the striker will be leaving the club in January before his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

The Portugal international was axed from United’s squad that traveled to play Chelsea over the weekend after walking out on the team before the end of their home 2-0 win over Tottenham.

United boss Erik Ten Hag was left with no option but to punish the five-time Balloon d’Or winner.

The ban did not affect United’s performance against the Blues as a late goal from Casimero earned the Red Devils a priceless point at the Bridge.

American billionaire Boehly is now willing to make another attempt in signing Ronaldo who is yet to open his Premier League account this season.

On the other hand, Chelsea have managed to score 16 goals and conceded 11, leaving them in 5th position despite their huge summer spendings.

New manager Graham Porter is yet to taste defeat after taking over from Tuchel a few weeks back but the Englishman is understood to be interested in AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Brentford’s Ivan Toney in January.
