A Nigerian man has taken to the social space to drag Chef Dami over her cooking etiquette as he stated that it was nothing to write home about.
The man identified as Ojuremi Timmyrado explained that he was disappointed at not just the timing of Chef Damilola Adeparusi but also over her etiquette while she cooked.
Recall that Chef Dami is the 300-level student from FUOYE who aims to cook for 120 hours to break Hilda Baci’s record and set her own.
Well in reaction to the pictures and videos that have been going around online, some people have been talking about her choice of food and the way she cooked the meal.
“Making use of your hands is unprofessional” – Food and Nutrition staff
Ojuremi claims to be well knowledgeable about cooking etiquette as he worked in Protea Hotel by Marriott International restaurant Vitoria Island for 1 year and 7 months as a food and nutrition staff.
According to him, it is quite unprofessional for Chef Dami to use her hand to pick something as what she was aiming for was a certification from an international award and not just a local award.
“When we talk, some people will say we don’t love her, I wonder how anyone will hate who you don’t know from anywhere. I worked in Protea Hotel by Marriott International restaurant Vitoria Island for 1 year and 7 months as a food and nutrition (F$B) staff, so I know what food etiquette and presentation is all about”
“This award she is aiming to get isn’t a local award from local government but a world-class international award, and she is required to act professionally as a chef if truly she is a Chef and not a Cook, but it’s two different things.”
” (A chef is typically a highly-skilled culinarian with years of training and experience, while a cook is someone who has been taught to complete a task but may lack the technical knowledge skills, training, and certification to be considered a chef)”
“Making use of your hand on live video for international award like Guinness world record is off standard and not professional, you have your picker to do that. I definitely know anyone who is a food and nutrition practitioner, hospitality management worker or a chef will be able to relate with what I’m trying to correct. I pray they give her the award even if she clock 200hrs,” he said.
