Fani Willis a prosecutor in the state of Georgia said that she has asked for the arrest of Donald Trump and 18 other people who were working with him.
After a grand jury issued its decision, the Fulton County district attorney declared that 13 felony charges had been brought against Mr. Trump.
These charges pertain to his alleged efforts to reverse the outcome of the 2020 presidential election within the state.

They should surrender before friday
Among the charges are RICO violations, conspiracy to engage in forgery, submitting false documents, solicitation of a public officer to violate their oath, and several others.
Furthermore, 18 individuals affiliated with Trump, including former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, have also been formally accused.
The district attorney said she is giving the individuals the opportunity to surrender voluntarily by noontime on Friday, August 25, 2023.

The prosecutor, Ms. Willis, says that the goal of these actions is to make Donald Trump president again after he lost the election.
She says that elections are a big part of how the country works, and everyone should play fair. She thinks they didn’t play fair and that they broke the law.
Ms. Willis wants to have a trial soon, maybe in the next six months. She also wants all 19 people to go to trial together. This is a big deal and will be in the news for a while.

Meanwhile, eight Nigerian-Americans have been voted into the legislative seats in the U.S midterm election in Georgia. In a tweet, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a Nigerian politician and former member of the House of Representatives, congratulated the new lawmakers.
